In the Weeds: What Our Tenacious Kin Teach Us About Thriving

Hybrid Workshop

How can we honor the unruliness of ourselves to make space for the authentic and generative creativity that our transforming earth needs? Our relationship with weeds offer lessons for transformation by guiding us through a process of initiation, daily nourishment and ancestral connection. Weeds offer us hope and resilience through both ecological and personal transformation. This workshop will explore three so-called weeds: dandelion, burdock, and mugwort--and the lessons each plant can teach us about how we can tend to our personal and collective unfurling with creative discipline. What can we learn when we are uprooted? What can we notice below the surface? How can we decolonize our transformation through the reverence of our rebellious plant family? Through music, plant study, and journal prompts, participants will leave with an understanding of how weeds can offer daily (but deep) tenderness and honesty through the dark, intimate spaces that our evolution requires.
