About Ni’Ja:
Ni’Ja Whitson (CA/NYC) is a Creative Capital and “Bessie” Award winning Nonbinary interdisciplinary artist, writer, and medicine worker who has been referred to as “majestic” by The New York Times and recognized by Brooklyn Magazine as a culture influencer. Whitson has been a student and practitioner of indigenous African ritual and resistance forms for two decades, creating work that reflects the sacred in queer and trans embodiment, architectures, media, conceptual and interdisciplinary performance.
