What About Pleasure: Exploring Barriers and Cultivating a Practice
This workshop will create a space for participants to explore and unpack their relationship to feeling and cultivating pleasure. We will discuss individual and systemic barriers we may experience in the process of creating and accessing pleasure within ourselves. Participants will learn about the effects of trauma on our brains and nervous systems, and how being in a trauma response “survival mode” prevents us from being in a more pleasurable and creative “thrival mode.”
We will explore how prioritizing pleasure in our own bodies, and being more aware of our own trauma responses, is not only an act of resistance, but also a building block in the relationships and communities we are actively creating. Participants will also learn about plant allies that can support them in accessing their sexual energy so that they may have a portal to their creativity
